 Robert William Wood

Robert William Wood was born Dec. 8, 1902, in Delphi, a 1921 graduate of Delphi High School. He resided at 303 W. Front St. He was married to Faye Wright of Kirklin, Indiana on Oct. 27, 1934, in Warsaw. The 303 W. Front St. home was originally built in 1863 by his Grandfather Charles Anderson Wood. He and Mrs. Wood remodeled the home in 1973, going to great lengths to keep the original architectual lines of the building. Mr. Wood was associated with the Carroll County Telephone company for many years and served as its Manager and Treasurer. He was a lifetime member of the Delphi Methodist church where he held many positions including treasurer. He was a life time member of the Mount Olive Masonic Lodge of Delphi, a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis. He served on the Rotary and was a past treasurer. He was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Wood after retiring from the Telephone Comany in 1971 was appointed as a Carroll County Court Bailiff by Judge Watson McCormick. He retired from that position in July 31, 1983. He and Mrs. Wood both served on committee's in the Carroll County Historical Society. Mr. Wood passed away Dec 24, 1985

Mr. and Mrs. Wood led a very active life in Delphi and raised two Grand-Nephews, Thomas Joseph and Stephen Robert Wood.
